Had Conor Drummond been born a century earlier, he would have certainly joined the Crusader cause. He is an elitist who is highly disdainful of anyone but trueborn mechwarriors, and even then he often finds disdain if he feels they are less worthy or too old. Conor also has little use for the spiritual “mumbo jumbo” that many Nova Cat warriors enjoy. He exists only to demonstrate that he is the best and that others should serve him.

Conor’s bravado and disdain may reflect some inner insecurities. Until recently, he was a 30-year old un-bloodnamed Star Commander, which many in the Clan might consider to be pretty close to “over the hill.” However, the conflict with the Combine opened up many bloodname positions and Conor was successful in earning one in the months prior to Irece. The success made him particularly unsufferable.

Drumond has asserted himself as the true leader of the entire force, despite the fact that there are other Star Commanders of an equal rank. This has sometimes brought him into conflct with other clanners, but his most frequent conflicts are with Arjun who he considers to be an “insolent boy.”
