Stefan had a long and fairly successful career as a clan warrior, despite never having won a bloodname for himself. He competed thirteen times and made the final round on two of those ocassions. At age 42, well past his prime, he entered his thirteen and final bloodname contest and lost his eye in a defeat in the second round.

That defeat ultimately removed him from active front line status and he was “promoted” to solahma Star Colonel of a PGC on Irece. His expected retirement was interrupted most violently by the Combine assault on Nova Cat enclaves. For most of the battles, he could only sit by an watch helplessly, until the Combine finally came to Irece.

Unlike many trueborn warriors, Stefan is not suicidally disgruntled by his second-line status. The difficulties of his life have given Stefan a calm disposition enhanced by his intense spiritual practice. Stefan instead threw himself into maintaining the 2nd Irece PGC in top form. Indeed, it his leadership and direction which is allowed a relatively successful evacuation of troops from the dropport in the final hours of the assault.

Stefan is now in an unusual position. Among the refugees, he is actually the highest ranking Clan officer. However, Clan prejudice is such that the younger Clan warriors are unlikely to respect his decisions. Instead, he has chosen to operate as a mediating force between some of the more rash Clan officers and the Republican officers.
