Born to Nova Cat expatriots on Shitara, Vanja Nova Cat was raised in two worlds. Her parents were freeborn, but her father had served as a second-line mechwarrior for the clan before their migration to Shitara. Seeking to continue the family legacy, Vanja successfully enrolled in Sandhurst Military College on Terra and earned a billet in the IV Hastati Sentinels. After a decade of commendable service, she had risen to the level of Captain and was recruited into the Knights of the Inner Sphere as a Knight Errant. She immediately developed a good rapport with her superior, Gideon Nostra-Gardbaum, given their shared homeworld and culture. The difficulties of the Blackout only increased her loyalty to Gideon.
Vanja is a quiet and thoughtful leader who is happy to let her subordinates participate in tactical and strategic decision making. Many who meet her would describe her as a “good listener.”
Rumors persist that Vanja is involved romantically with fellow Knight Errant, Reggie Overton, although neither of them have publicly declared such affection. Nonetheless, they are known to work well together.
